How to manage your list subscription via email

You can manage your list subscription by sending commands via e-mail to the list server. These commands can be placed in the subject line or in the body of the e-mail. If you place the command in the subject line, leave the body of the email blank.  Do not include signatures, disclaimers, or other standard footers. This can confuse the list server. Remember to substitute the actual name of the list, e.g. acradvocacy, northeast, etc. for listname when using the examples below.

To subscribe to a list
subscribe listname

To unsubscribe from this list
unsubscribe listname

To receive only one e-mail per day containing all e-mails sent that day (digest mode)
set listname digest

Important Note: You must change the Subject: line when replying to a digest post. These posts come in with a subject line of "listname digest", and will be rejected by the server if you forget to change the subject on your reply.

To receive e-mails in discussion mode (receive individual e-mails as they are sent)
set listname mail

To temporarily suspend receiving e-mails (sabbatical mode)
set listname nomail

To resume receiving email after suspending e-mails
set listname mail

set listname digest
