Subcommittee Description

The Early Career Investigator (ECI) Subcommittee is a subcommittee of the Committee on Research.

Responsibilities

The ECI Subcommittee is responsible for serving the needs of junior research faculty who are pursuing careers in academic rheumatology with planning and managing the following:

  • Rheumatology Research Workshop (RRW)
  • Meet the Funders session during ACR Convergence
  • Creating Adult Rheumatology Mentorship in Academia (CARMA)

The ACR staff is responsible for the administration and project management of all initiatives and programs.

Time Commitments

Virtual

  • Meetings: 2 meetings per quarter for 2 hours
  • Asynchronous Work: 2 hours per quarter

The ACR ECI Subcommittee welcomes all interested volunteers.

Interested participants for this subcommittee should have knowledge or experience in one or more of the following areas:

Requirements

  • Must be an ACR or an ARP member
  • Must spend greater than 70% of time in research
  • Must currently be employed as faculty/staff at an academic institution or in industry
  • Must be within five years after finishing fellowship or post-doctoral training equivalent at the time of application (last training completed by September 2020 or later)
