Subcommittee Description
The Fellows-in-Training (FIT) Subcommittee, a subcommittee of the Committee on Training (COT), enhances and improves fellowship training by planning FIT@SOTA and the FIT Program at ACR Convergence and offers FIT resources, including the FIT Welcome Brochure and FIT Scholarships.
Responsibilities
- Organizes the Fellows Educational Sessions at the State-of-the-Art Clinical Symposium (SOTA) and ACR Convergence
- Influences FIT volunteer opportunities
- Enhances FIT educational resources
The ACR staff is responsible for the administration and project management of all initiatives and programs.
Time Commitments
Meetings
- Virtual: Typically 9 meetings per year, each 1.5 hours in length, held between 7:00 and 9:30 PM ET
- In-Person: Typically includes 2 one-day meetings annually during FIT@SOTA and the FIT Program
Asynchronous Work
- Typically 2 hours per quarter, although the time commitment may vary depending on additional responsibilities, as needed
Recommended Qualifications
The ACR FIT Subcommittee welcomes all interested volunteers. Interested participants for this subcommittee should have knowledge or experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Strong organizational skills
- Professional communication skills (written/verbal)
- Leadership and Initiative
- Collaborative mindset
- Reliability and accountability
- Time management
Requirements
- Available to serve one consecutive two-year term on the subcommittee
- An active ACR FIT member in good standing
- Actively enrolled in an ACGME-accredited or Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) rheumatology training program during the duration of the two-year term
