Subcommittee Description
The ACR Ultrasound Planning Subcommittee oversees the content development of the Ultrasound Conferences that take place during ACR Convergence.
Responsibilities
- Identify knowledge gaps and emerging advances in the field
- Help facilitate the aspects of hands-on ultrasound workshops, including identifying a model recruiter
- Suggest and contact faculty on the ACR’s behalf
- Provide ACR staff liaisons with materials needed, such as supply lists and handouts, and assign scan groups
- Collaborate with ACR to secure ultrasound machines and industry support, which are critical for a successful course, both academically and financially
- Collaborate with ACR to ensure the meeting meets the financial and strategic goals of the College
- Collaborate with ACR to develop innovative ways to coordinate future workshops based on the needs of the ultrasound community and in accordance with the ACR Board of Directors' approval
The ACR staff is responsible for the administration and project management of all initiatives and programs.
Time Commitments
Virtual
- Meetings: Once per month
- Asynchronous Work: About 20–30 hours of work to complete necessary tasks periodically to ensure compliance with ABIM and ACCME standards
In-Person
- Attend the Ultrasound Conference(s) during ACR Convergence (November)
Recommended Qualifications
The ACR Ultrasound Planning Subcommittee welcomes all interested volunteers.
Interested participants for this subcommittee should have knowledge or experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Rheumatology and ultrasound technology
- Must hold a current RhMSUS certification
