Committee Description
The ACR Committee on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) advances ACR’s strategic goal of embedding DEI best practices in the College's policies, processes and programs.
The DEI Committee acts as a steward for the College's DEI commitment by:
- Providing subject matter expertise, strategic counsel, insights and recommendations
- Supporting peer committees to optimize process efficiencies & collaboration related to DEI integration
- Recommending process enhancements to support DEI integration
Responsibilities
- Discuss peer committee projects/programs and provide input on applying DEI best practices
- Provide input on how best to meet the needs of members based on various dimensions of diversity (e.g., practice settings, career stage, geographic location, race/ethnicity, etc.)
- Recommend ways to promote equity and belonging with current processes and programs
The ACR staff is responsible for the administration and project management of all initiatives and programs.
Time Commitments
Virtual
- One 1-hour Zoom meeting per quarter, usually between 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM ET
Recommended Qualifications
The ACR DEI committee welcomes all interested volunteers. The committee mix would benefit from adding a pediatric perspective and a practice perspective.
Interested participants for this committee should have knowledge or experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Demonstrated interest in topics related to diversity, equity and inclusion
- Being active in advancing diversity, equity and inclusion related activities in any capacity, either as a volunteer or a formal role, within an academic institution, hospital, practice, government agency or association
