Committee Description
The ACR Committee on Pediatric Rheumatology addresses issues impacting the pediatric rheumatology community.
Responsibilities
- In the coming year, the committee will focus on developing long-range goals for pediatric rheumatology and collaborating with the ACR Committee on Workforce Solutions to launch a pediatric rheumatology recruitment campaign targeted to medical students and residents.
The ACR staff is responsible for the administration and project management of all initiatives and programs.
Time Commitments
Virtual
- Meetings: Virtual meetings approximately every 3 months for 1.5 hours; meetings are scheduled based on the availability of the committee members
- Asynchronous Work: 2–3 hours per month
Recommended Qualifications
The ACR Committee on Pediatric Rheumatology welcomes applicants with the ability to think strategically with potential connections to relevant pediatric associations/societies for increased collaboration across the field. The committee mix would benefit from adding:
- Early career pediatric rheumatologists to help with identifying current gaps for the development of long-range goals
- Pediatric rheumatologists working in a practice setting outside of academia
