Committee Description
The ACR Committee on Workforce Solutions addresses issues related to adult and pediatric workforce shortages in academics and private practice.
Responsibilities
- The committee has established 5 long-range goals and has created projects to meet those goals.
- These projects range from developing tools specifically for PCPs to expand knowledge and improve referrals, creating educational products to increase exposure of rheumatology within resident programs, and producing guidance materials for onboarding of APPs in practice.
- The committee works collaboratively with other ACR standing committees on various topics related to improving workforce challenges.
The ACR staff is responsible for the administration and project management of all initiatives and programs.
Time Commitments
Virtual
- Meetings: Virtual meetings held approximately every 3 months for 1–1.5 hours; scheduling is dependent on the availability of the committee members
- Asynchronous Work: 2–3 hours per month
