Committee Description
The ARP eLearning Committee oversees and promotes the ARP Online Rheumatology Education Portfolio using state-of-the-art technologies and interactive learning strategies to advance and promote online education for all rheumatology professionals.
Responsibilities
- Review of new and existing products
- Brainstorm new educational products and resources to serve the ARP membership
The ARP staff is responsible for the administration and project management of all initiatives and programs.
Time Commitments
ARP Member Chair-Elect
- Meetings: Monthly virtual meeting with staff to prepare for ARP Executive Committee and ARP eLearning Committee meetings
- Asynchronous Work: 1–2 hours per month
- Serve on the ARP Executive Committee
- Attend monthly virtual meetings after 5:00 PM ET
- 2 in-person meetings annually
- Attend ACR/ARP committee chair meetings
- 2–4 virtual meetings annually
- In-person twice per year (in May and during ACR Convergence)
Member-at-Large
- Meetings: Once a month for 1–1.5 hours on weekdays after 5:00 PM ET (may change according to member availability throughout the year)
- Asynchronous Work: 1–1.5 hours per month
Recommended Qualifications
ARP committees benefit from having many professional disciplines represented. Based on the committee mix, the following disciplines are needed: Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Registered Nurse, Physician, Practice Manager, Social Worker, and/or Psychologist.
Interested participants for this committee should have knowledge or experience in one or more of the following areas:
- An interest in online education and a willingness to explore innovative learning strategies
- Familiarity with eLearning technologies, instructional design concepts, or adult learning principles is helpful but not required
- Enthusiasm for advancing rheumatology education, collaborating with peers, and supporting creative approaches to content delivery will be key to success on this committee
