ATLANTA – The American College of Rheumatology (ACR) today announced that Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) has joined the Rheumatology Informatics System for Effectiveness (RISE) registry, the nation’s first and largest rheumatology-specific clinical data registry.
HSS, a global leader in musculoskeletal health, joins a growing network of rheumatology practices committed to leveraging real-world data to improve patient care and advance research. Participation in the RISE registry enables HSS to contribute to and benefit from robust, data-driven insights that support quality improvement, clinical decision-making, and innovation in rheumatology.
“Welcoming HHS to the RISE registry marks an important step forward in our shared mission to improve outcomes for patients living with rheumatic diseases,” said Christie Bartels, MD, MS, chair of ACR’s Committee on Registries and Health Information Technology. “Their leadership and commitment to excellence will further strengthen the registry’s impact on advancing high-quality, evidence-based care nationwide. We hope they are the first of many new academic partners.”
“At HSS, we are committed to advancing the quality and effectiveness of care for patients with rheumatic diseases,” said Anca D. Askanase, MD, chair of the Department of Medicine and chief of the Division of Rheumatology at HSS. “Joining the RISE registry allows us to benchmark our quality improvement efforts against national and registry averages and use data to inform clinical decisions to continue driving innovation that improves patient outcomes.”.
Through the RISE registry, participating practices gain access to actionable performance data, benchmarking tools, and opportunities to contribute to groundbreaking research. The registry plays a critical role in supporting value-based care initiatives and informing best practices across the rheumatology community.
The addition of HSS underscores the continued growth and influence of the RISE registry as a cornerstone of rheumatology quality improvement and innovation.
