Subcommittee Description
The ACR Abstract Oversight Committee, a subcommittee of the Committee on Education (COE), is the regulatory committee for the ACR Convergence abstract review process.
Responsibilities
- Review each abstract category selection team (e.g., 2 co-chairs and 4 reviewers) to ensure that the review teams are balanced and recommend ad hoc reviewers as needed
- On an ad hoc basis, advise on ethical issues concerning abstracts
The ACR staff is responsible for the administration and project management of all initiatives and programs.
Time Commitments
Virtual
- Activities should not exceed 5 hours in a volunteer year
- Review of abstract selection teams should not exceed three hours
- Discussions to resolve abstract-related ethical issues will be conducted over email, and the time commitment for this responsibility is usually very low.
Recommended Qualifications
The ACR Abstract Oversight Subcommittee welcomes all interested volunteers. The committee mix would benefit from ARP/interprofessional representation.
Interested participants for this subcommittee should have knowledge or experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Serving as an ACR abstract reviewer would be useful, although not necessary
