Subcommittee Description

The ACR Classification & Response Criteria Subcommittee is a subcommittee of the ACR Committee on Quality of Care.

Responsibilities

The ACR Classification & Response Criteria Subcommittee supports the development of classification, response, remission, and other criteria for rheumatic diseases and will often work jointly with EULAR on projects.

The ACR staff is responsible for the administration and project management of all initiatives and programs.

Time Commitments

Meetings

  • Virtual: 2–3 times per year (including May and December for 60–90 minutes)
  • In Person: During ACR Convergence for 1–2 hours

Asynchronous Work

  • Approximately 2–3 hours of work per quarter

Recommended Qualifications

The ACR Classification & Response Criteria Subcommittee welcomes all interested volunteers in private and academic practice settings, caring for pediatric and adult patients and at all career levels. The mix would benefit from members with lupus expertise, epidemiology, and research experience.

Interested participants for this subcommittee should have knowledge or experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Experience in systematic literature reviews and/or meta-analyses, epidemiology, decision analysis, clinical trial design, development of classification and response criteria
  • Passion for advancing rheumatologic research agenda
  • Professionalism, integrity, confidentiality, sound judgment, and emotional intelligence
  • Collaborative, flexible, adaptive, and inclusive to all
  • Good verbal and written communication skills and being an active listener
