Interdisciplinary Care Team

Collaboration between rheumatologists and rheumatology healthcare professionals is essential to enhance patient outcomes.

Roles of the Interdisciplinary Rheumatology Team

When a diverse interdisciplinary team of rheumatologists and rheumatology professionals collaborates, treatments become more effective, work efficiency improves, and professional relationships among staff are enhanced.

To work together effectively, rheumatologists and rheumatology professionals need to understand the roles of every member of the interdisciplinary team. To enhance this understanding, the ARP Interprofessional Practice & Management Committee has undertaken a project to describe the modern roles of members of the interdisciplinary team in a series of fact sheets. These fact sheets are intended to be used by clinicians and rheumatology professionals to best determine where their practices may be able to enhance the holistic care of patients.

Available Fact Sheets

New fact sheets will be added on a rolling basis. If you have questions or would like to contribute to a fact sheet for your profession, contact ARP@rheumatology.org.
