Reproductive Health Initiative

Logo

The ACR Reproductive Health Initiative (RHI) is a multidisciplinary, multi-stakeholder initiative, that supports the dissemination and implementation of scientifically sound information to address the unmet needs in the treatment and management of fertility, pregnancy, and lactation in those affected by autoimmune and systemic inflammatory diseases.

The RHI’s inaugural Reproductive Health & Rheumatic Disease Symposium was held in May 2022. Experts in reproductive rheumatology gathered virtually and shared current research, presented case studies, discussed future needs in the field, and made connections.

Reproductive Health Guideline

The American College of Rheumatology Guideline for the Management of Health in Rheumatic and Musculoskeletal Diseases was published in February 2020.

The evidence-based guideline includes contraceptive recommendations and suggestions for rheumatologists co-managing patients with obstetrician-gynecologists (OBGYNs) and other specialists.

RHI Tool Kits

Educational Tool Kits are available for PsA & Reproductive Health and SLE & Reproductive Health to educate prescribing providers, such as MDs, DOs, NPs, PAs, PharmD, and other providers. The tool kits include PowerPoint presentations, facilitator guides, handouts, and more.
