About the Program
Established to honor a founding member of the COVID-19 Global Rheumatology Alliance, colleague, friend, and leader in rheumatology, Philip C. Robinson, MB ChB, PhD, FRACP, the program will provide scholarships to register for, travel to, and attend ACR Convergence and participate in bespoke workshops, networking, and mentoring activities during the meeting.
The program aims to foster collaboration, facilitate mentoring, and promote interactions between early career rheumatologists, rheumatology professionals, and patient advocates around the world and develop future rheumatology leaders.
Funding is made possible by contributions from the American College of Rheumatology and COVID-19 Global Rheumatology Alliance.

Note: The call for nominations for pediatric residents for the Pediatric Rheumatology Residents Program has closed. The deadline to make a nomination was August 11. See more information about the program below.
The Pediatric Rheumatology Residents Program introduces pediatric residents to the possibility of subspecialty training in pediatric rheumatology at an early period in their residency. By identifying residents who have demonstrated interest in rheumatology but are undecided about a subspecialty, we hope to have a positive impact on workforce issues that continue to challenge pediatric rheumatology.
About the Program
Accepted pediatric residents will travel to ACR Convergence, November 10–15 in San Diego, California.
Note: All nominators must identify a mentor who will attend ACR Convergence in person and mentor the resident during the meeting.
Participant Eligibility
- Enrolled in an ACGME-accredited pediatric or medicine/pediatric residency or a similar program in Canada accredited by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
- Interested in, but not yet decided, on subspecialty training in pediatrics and willing to consider rheumatology. (Residents who have already applied to a rheumatology fellowship program are NOT eligible for this program, nor are residents selected for this program in previous years.)
- Considered to be an outstanding candidate by a program director in pediatrics and/or a pediatric rheumatologist.
Application Process
The nomination deadline for the Pediatric Rheumatology Residents Program has passed.
